Due to significant shoaling in the Lynnhaven Inlet Turning Basin and the Broad Bay/Long Creek Channels, least depth 2.6’MLW to 6.0’MLW, the Coast Guard will make the following changes on or about April 6, 2022 to the aids to navigation marking Long Creek:
- Establish: Lighted Buoy 2LC in approximate position: 36 54 24.723N-76 05 27.930W with a quick flashing red light with a 4nm nominal range.
- Establish: Buoy 4 in approximate position: 36 54 23.273N-76 05 19.919W
- Establish: Buoy 6 in approximate position: 36 54 21.781N-76 05 15.798W
- Rename: Light 6 (LLNR 10170) to Light 6A.
- Change: Light 1LC (LLNR 10160) to Warning Light A, change flash characteristic to a flashing 4 second flashing white light with a 4nm nominal range and NW dayboards worded “Danger Shoal”.
- Discontinue: Lighted Buoy 1A (LLNR 10162).
- Rename: Waning Daybeacon A (LLNR 10165) to Warning Daybeacon B with NW dayboards worded “Danger Shoal”.
- Discontinue: Lighted Buoy 2 (LLNR 10166).
- Rename: Daybeacon 4 (LLNR 10168) to Warning Daybeacon C with NW dayboards worded “Danger Shoal”.
