Job Description and Responsibilities:

Lynnhaven Marine is currently accepting applications for rigging technicians. Come be part of our team!

The scope of work includes:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with marine systems in a boat yard environment
  • De-winterize and winterize boats
  • Launch boats and load boats
  • Perform water tests as necessary
  • Prepare units for delivery to customers
  • Must have strong attention to detail and maintain cleanliness on projects both during and upon completion
  • Strong, high quality work ethic
  • Positive attitude towards work, fellow crew and our customers
  • Must be a self-starter, able to manage projects on their own and effectively communicate directly with customers and service managers

Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Service Shop Helper/Mechanic Apprentice

Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • Service shop cleaning and maintenance
  • Clean and maintain boats
  • Move boats on property with company tractor
  • Help and assist technicians and service writers as needed
  • Help test run boats (Proof of Boater Safety Course Required)


  • Skillful with everyday tools
  • Reliable, punctual, and team oriented
  • Ability to move in a fast paced environment
  • Must be at least 17 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.

This is a full time position with hourly compensation with potential for growth within the company.

Service Writer/Parts Advisor

Lynnhaven Marine is looking for an experienced Service Writer/Parts Advisor. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of marine or automotive service writing experience. Only applicants with experience in the marine, automotive, or closely related industry will be considered.

Service Responsibilities:
  • Communicate proactively and promptly with department leaders and customers
  • Create estimates, generate repair orders, schedule, and dispatch appropriately with technicians
  • Ensure that all changes in job status are continually monitored and updated
  • Continual follow up with technicians and relay information to customers
  • Handle service related concerns with immediate resolution
  • Answer the phones for service
Parts Responsibilities:
  • Parts Counter
  • Assist customers in finding parts and accessories quickly and accurately
  • Generate special orders for customer requests of non-stocked items
  • Notify customers of backorders, and/or receipt of special orders
  • Process and submit vendor orders
  • Ordering and receiving and stock shelves as required by inventory
  • Be on-time for all scheduled shifts
  • Customer Service
  • Provide a greeting to each and every customer
  • Promptly answer incoming telephone calls, provide information, and transfer calls using best
  • practices
  • In charge of listing items and shipping sold items through our Ebay store

Office Assistant & Rental Consultant

Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to: copying, faxing, mail distribution and filing
  • Perform data entry
  • Answer calls from customers on a multi line switchboard
  • Greet customers and attend to their needs
  • Help maintain small convenience store and perform transactions
  • Maintain Rental Agreements and Insurance Documents


  • Exceptional customer service skills, over the phone and in person, with our customers and internal departments
  • Must be computer savvy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

  • Grounds maintenance
  • Fuel attendant duties.

Must be at least 17 years of age.
